Hospital and medical assistance services for visitors
Are you traveling with health insurance? Here I explain the medical assistance services we offer, and I give you some guidelines on how to access a doctor or hospital if you need it during your stay in Madrid, at any time and any day of the year.
If you need to contact us for healthcare assistance, you can call the freephone number 900 264 796, mentioning the code CHESTERFIELD so they know you are calling on our behalf. They will be able to assist you in several languages and advise you on what you need. Among other things, you can request:
- Request a doctor visit to your apartment or hotel room. You will need to pay in advance (by card or cash), but you will receive an invoice so you can claim reimbursement from your insurance company. The visit costs €130 (€140 if it’s on a weekend or at night).
- Go directly to one of our designated hospitals, where you will receive priority treatment from our healthcare professionals. For international visitors, there are two hospitals in Madrid (there are also hospitals in other cities if you are visiting elsewhere).
- If necessary, we will send an ambulance to transfer you to a hospital. You will not need to pay in advance; this will be charged directly to your insurance company.
Our healthcare professionals will take care of you throughout the entire process:
- They will ensure you receive prompt medical attention upon arrival at the hospital.
- They will coordinate all the details between your health insurance provider and the hospital.
- They speak multiple languages and can assist you in communicating with the hospital staff.
For any questions or if you need help, you can contact or request information from Alfonso at his contact e-mail addresss.
